Captain Christmas getting ready to set sail in 2026

This winter, our musical puppet show Captain Christmas will set sail around schools in Sussex.

Captain Christmas is a joyful, rebellious puppet adventure which unfolds across a melting Lapland and the stormy Arctic Ocean. When the Elves cancel Christmas - sacking Santa and declaring there simply isn’t enough joy to go around - young wolverine Esme and her peg-legged grandmother Grace launch an underground festive resistance. With the help of a hunky eco-pirate, a mutinous crew of Santas and a whale with impeccable timing, Christmas fights back. 

Packed with puppets, shadow play, live music, physical comedy and audience participation, Captain Christmas is delightfully dark, seriously silly and full of heart. 

The show teaches about the importance of marine diversity and explores big questions around what it means to protest, and comes with a pre-performance workshop and education pack.
